How To Improve Spoken English

I came to realise that my spoken English really sucks when this woman called me on my phone to ask me bout some stuffs that I’ve signed up for.. I actually pause and stuck there! LOL!! I wanted to tell her she has a nice voice but lol i dont know i just turned mute suddenly. Feel lousy for a moment <_<"

Written English is ok, but I’m not that fluent in spoken English tho….

FYI, I tend to neglect the tenses when speaking in English. For eg. I’d use all present tense instead of past tense (for some words). I gotta think for awhile if a particular word is to be in present/past/others.. that makes my conversation to be not so fluent….

I don’t converse in English often as my family doesn’t. For friends.. yea sometimes but usually in broken English (we tend to mix English and some other languages together as I came from a country with many diff races). Although the message is understood by both parties I still think it’s not right.

Also, as my spoken English is not that fluent, I actually skip the sales section when looking for a job as you know, sales jobs require a lot of communication and I feel that I’m not up to par. I’m afraid I might just messed everything up. Hence I really do wish to improve on my spoken English….

Other than speaking the language often, what else can I do? Bear in mind that typing/writing in English is different from speaking as typing/writing gives you more time to think what to say/express your ideas and thoughts.
